CTP Workshops
We are delighted to offer various workshops designed specifically for Children & Teens throughout the school year. These workshops vary in length and level and are designed for students who wish to augment their CTP curriculum or for those who cannot commit to our 32 week program.
Intro to Hip-Hop focuses on the basic fundamentals of the popular urban cultural style of dance.
Intro to Jazz introduces and familiarizes the student with basic jazz terminology and creates a foundation of the basic jazz movements including positions, across the floor work and flexibility.
Ultimate Theater was created and is taught by Lainie Munro specifically for kids and teens who LOVE musical theater and Broadway dancing. This workshop will cover many different genres of Theater Dance styles and music. Focus is on style and technique, learning moves from famous choreographers, acting while dancing and how to audition well. Dancers must have at least three years of dance training.
Camera Ready integrates jazz dancing with on camera technique. This class explores the importance of precision and detail in movement for the media of film and video. Learn how to successfully make the shift from stage to screen! In this class dancers will learn how to alter their performance for a camera, as well as how to dance for a 3/4 shot, a close up, and a wide shot. This workshop will provide the dancers with a language for communicating with directors on set so they know how to give a dynamite performance take after take after take. You will also learn how to make your own dance videos at home and of course have a new genre of dance to add to your repertoire.
Clogging - When you think about Clogging, do you picture girls in petticoats, stomping around to country music? Although this is how Clogging is traditionally performed, a new generation has adopted a new style of Clogging called "Contemporary." This unique dance form can be taught to all ages and skill levels. This contemporary style combines Traditional, Buck and Contemporary Clogging steps along with Jazz and Hip-Hop to create one of the most popular and fastest-growing forms of dance.
