Professional Semester

Broadway Dance Center, the ultimate home for professional dancers in New York City, is proud to present The Professional Semester at BDC, an exciting new program designed for the aspiring professional dancer.

This four-month course is the ideal option for well-trained dancers ages 18-27 who are hoping to launch their professional careers. Whether dancers are recent graduates from university dance programs, current students looking to spend a semester gaining real-world experience, recent high school graduates hoping to break into the dance industry, or working professionals looking for an intensive course to hone their skills, The Professional Semester offers dancers the pragmatic coursework and networking opportunities needed to establish themselves as working dancers.

BDC Training Program

This training program, which runs parallel to our flourishing International Student Visa Program, includes twelve weekly classes selected from our renowned schedule, closed and master classes, performance opportunities with free rehearsal space, a full-time student advisor, faculty mentoring, a supportive and nurturing staff, and more.

Summer Intern Program

This eight-week Summer Intern Program is the premier summer intensive for dancers ages 18-27, offering aspiring dancers the opportunity to dance and work at BDC in the heart of New York City’s Theater District. The program is designed to provide the intensive training, tools, and connections to guide enterprising dancers as they transition from students into professionals. Summer Interns also enjoy the powerful experience of working behind the scenes at the blockbuster Summer PULSE NYC event.

The SIP syllabus emphasizes numerous disciplines including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and musical theater, and features 10 weekly classes from BDC’s legendary drop-in class schedule, intern-only master classes with BDC’s world-renowned faculty, as well as industry-specific seminars, performance opportunities, and a final mock audition and showcase. A nurturing atmosphere of concentrated study assists dancers at varying levels of technical study. Come spend your summer dancing in NYC!

Work-Study Program

A non-audition program for serious dancers in need of financial assistance with their intensive training. Work-Study participants are selected through an application and interview process.
